From Hollywood to the Nürburgring
James "Jim" Glickenhaus started his career in the director's chair, producing cult action films like The Exterminator in the 1980s. But his true passion was always parked in his garage. An avid collector of rare Ferraris, Glickenhaus wasn't satisfied with just owning history; he wanted to make it.
The Ferrari P4/5 Catalyst
In 2006, Glickenhaus did something audacious: he commissioned Pininfarina to re-body a Ferrari Enzo into a modern homage to the 1960s P-series racers. The result was the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina. The car was so stunning that Ferrari, initially hesitant, officially badged it. This project was the spark. Realizing he could oversee the creation of a world-class vehicle, Jim decided to stop modifying other people's cars and start building his own.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus
He founded Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) with a rebellious philosophy: build cars that you can drive to the racetrack, compete in the 24-hour endurance race, and then drive home. The SCG 003 proved this concept at the grueling Nürburgring 24 Hours. Unlike major manufacturers who trailered their fragile prototypes, Glickenhaus built tanks disguised as spaceships.
David vs. Goliath
Glickenhaus is known for his trademark cowboy hat and his fearless attitude. He took SCG to the highest level of motorsport: the Hypercar class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Competing against giants like Toyota and Porsche with a fraction of their budget, the SCG 007 secured podium finishes, proving that a privateer with a clear vision and stubborn determination can still run with the big dogs.
