The Realist in the Room
Every visionary needs an integrator. For Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG), James provides the dream, but his son Jesse Glickenhaus provides the execution. As Managing Director, Jesse is responsible for turning sketches into street-legal machines. He navigates the labyrinth of NHTSA regulations, supply chain logistics, and crash testingâthe grueling work that separates a real car manufacturer from a garage hobbyist.
Conquering Baja
Jesse's defining moment came in the desert. He spearheaded the project to revive the legendary Baja Boot, originally raced by Steve McQueen. SCG acquired the original vehicle and built a modern, road-legal successor. In 2019, Jesse led the team to the Baja 1000 to race in the same class as the factory-backed Ford Bronco R.
It was a David vs. Goliath battle. Ford brought helicopters, massive support crews, and a PR machine. Jesse brought a small team and a car they had driven to the race. The result was historic: The SCG Boot finished the race and won the class; the Ford Bronco R broke down and failed to finish. Jesse had orchestrated one of the most embarrassing upsets in modern off-road racing history.
Building a Legacy
Beyond racing, Jesse is focused on the long-term sustainability of the brand. He is overseeing the production of the SCG 004S, a three-seater supercar, and the SCG 008 "008" kit car. His leadership ensures that SCG isn't just a rich man's toy, but a viable, innovative automotive company that will survive for generations.
