With a background in strategy consulting (Roland Berger) and real estate, he brought a unique perspective to the automotive world when he co-founded NIO with William Li in 2014. He understood early on that in the EV era, technology is easily copied, but community is not.
The "Chief User Officer"
Qin's masterpiece is the NIO App. Unlike other car apps used only for locking doors, the NIO App is a vibrant social media platform with over 200,000 daily active users. Qin himself is famous for personally replying to user comments and complaints, creating a direct line between the factory and the driver.

He championed the concept of NIO Life (selling everything from cookies to clothing) and the NIO House clubhouses. Under his watch, NIO became more than a car manufacturer; it became a lifestyle brand where owners feel a tribal loyalty, often volunteering to help sell cars at auto shows for free.
