Innovation in the Blood
Steve Hall comes from a lineage of genius. He is a part of the family behind Hall Labs in Utah, and his father was H. Tracy Hall, the chemist who first synthesized diamond. Growing up in this environment of constant invention, Steve turned his attention to automotive engineering. He wanted to build something that captured the raw joy of driving but with a level of craftsmanship missing in the market.
Class over Plastic
When Steve founded Vanderhall Motor Works in 2010, the three-wheeler market was dominated by the Polaris Slingshot. Hall went in the opposite direction. Instead of sharp angles and plastic panels, he designed the Venice and Carmel with smooth, retro lines reminiscent of 1960s Formula 1 cars. He used a patented aluminum mono-chassis and front-wheel drive architecture, creating vehicles that were lightweight, stable, and undeniably stylish.
The Electric Off-Roader
Hall is not stuck in the past, however. He recognized the shift toward electrification early. Vanderhall expanded its lineup with the Brawley, a fully electric 4x4 off-road vehicle (UTV). With four inboard electric motors and a sealed cabin, the Brawley demonstrates Hall's ability to pivot from vintage roadsters to futuristic off-roaders without losing the brand's unique design identity.
